Sex and the Clueless Man · Mar 31, 02:16 AM
Yet another idiotic study has arrived to us via the magic of the internet.
More often than not, guys interpret even friendly cues, such as a subtle smile from a gal, as a sexual come-on, and a new study discovers why: Guys are clueless.
More precisely, they are somewhat oblivious to the emotional subtleties of non-verbal cues, according to a new study of college students.
Hmmm. Back in the old days of science, it used to be required to check out all links of the communication chain. Oh! X didn’t receive the signal! The receiver is the issue, obviously!
Well, it could just as well be the transmitter. Duh.
Women say idiotic things like, “I love you, but I’m not in love with you? Understand?”
“Um, no.”
“Well, honey, I shouldn’t have to explain it. Well, I can’t explain it, actually. So you’ll just have to accept it.”
“Accept what?”
Eventually, you learn to translate this. It’s simple, really.
“I want all the advantages you offer. I want to be taken out to dinner, I want to borrow money without paying it back, and I’d like a few long, romantic walks in th park. I’m just not going to fuck you any more.”
So there it is, subtlety discarded.
I was stuck on an island with a group of people long ago. One day one of the woman approached a group of us and said, “Did you know Mr. X is married? The louse! He made a pass at me! Can I ask you to please, please keep him away from me. He makes me sick! Think of his wife! I couldn’t start a relationship with him if we were the last two people on this island!”
By the next day, they were walking hand in hand along the beach. I wanted to swat his had away. A subtle look in her eyes told me I’d better not dare.
So then I wanted to say, “Geez, fucking already, eh? That didn’t take long.”
To tell the truth, I have no problem with subtlety. I have problems with people telling me things to my face that they don’t mean.
Want to read some drivel? Here then.
